Xhorse VVDI Super Chip XT27A01 XT27A66 Clonable Transponder Chip For ID46 4D 8C 8A 47
Xhorse VVDI Super Chip XT27A Overview
The Xhorse VVDI Super Chip XT27A, also known as XT27A01 or XT27A66, is a reusable universal transponder chip for auto locksmiths, key shops, and mobile key programmers. It helps reduce the number of separate chips you need to keep in stock by covering many common immobilizer chip types in one small wedge-style chip.
The Super Chip XT27A is commonly used for transponder cloning, chip generation, spare key work, and many add-key jobs. It works with Xhorse VVDI tools and can also be used in supported cloning workflows with professional tools such as Autel IMMO tablets, depending on the vehicle, chip type, and tool software.
Why Key Shops Stock the Super Chip XT27A
- Lower chip inventory: Replaces many dedicated ceramic, glass, and carbon transponders used across common vehicles.
- Wide immobilizer coverage: Supports many fixed-code and crypto transponder types used in everyday locksmith jobs.
- Reusable design: Can be reset and written again when the job allows, helping reduce wasted stock.
- Wedge chip profile: Fits many aftermarket flip keys, remote head shells, and standard transponder chip slots.
Common Applications
- Spare key duplication: Clone or generate a chip for a working customer key when the vehicle and tool support it.
- Transponder cloning: Copy supported transponder data onto an XT27A for fast duplicate-key service.
- Adding keys: Use the chip in many add-key workflows after the correct transponder type is prepared.
- Replacing lost keys: Use in selected all-keys-lost jobs when the programmer and vehicle system support the required chip type.
Supported Transponder Types
The Xhorse VVDI Super Chip XT27A supports many common transponder types, including ID11, ID12, ID13, ID46, ID47, ID48, ID49, 4C, 4D, 8A, 8C, 8E, and T5. Actual support depends on the function being used, such as cloning, generation, conversion, or pre-coding.

On-Site Workflow: How to Clone to a Super Chip XT27A
- Open the Chip Copy or Transponder Cloning function in your programmer.
- Place the customer's working original key in the read coil and read the immobilizer data.
- Remove the original key, place a blank XT27A01 chip in the coil, and choose Clone or Start.
- Wait for the tool to confirm that the data has been written and verified.
When to Use the XT27A Instead of the XT27B or XT57B
Use the XT27A for everyday transponder cloning, spare key duplication, chip generation, and common add-key jobs where MQB48 or MQB49 support is not required. Choose the XT27B or XT57B when the vehicle requires newer MQB48, MQB49, or specialized smart transponder coverage. For a full breakdown, read the Xhorse XT27A vs XT27B vs XT57B comparison guide.
XT27A vs XT27B vs XT57B Tech Comparison
Choosing the right universal transponder chip helps you match the chip to the vehicle system, programmer, and job type. The XT27A is the practical choice for many standard transponder jobs. The XT27B and XT57B are better suited for newer or more specialized coverage, including selected MQB48 and MQB49 applications.
Xhorse VVDI Super Chip XT27A FAQ
Does the XT27A support Volkswagen MQB48 or MQB49 systems?
No. The standard XT27A is not the right chip for MQB48 or MQB49 work. For those systems, compare the XT27B and XT57B options and choose the chip required by your programmer and vehicle coverage.
How many times can I reset and reuse an XT27A chip?
The XT27A is designed to be reset and reused many times when the chip is not locked by the job. If a write fails or the chip is used for testing, reset it with an Xhorse tool and read it again before returning it to stock.
Does the XT27A support Toyota H-chip 8A jobs?
Yes, the XT27A supports selected Toyota 8A H-chip functions. The exact workflow depends on whether you are cloning, generating, or programming keys through OBD, and whether your tool supports that vehicle.
Why is my tool not reading or writing the XT27A?
Most read/write problems come from chip placement. Put the wedge chip flat in the center of the tool coil and keep it still during the operation. If it is inside a key shell, remove it and test the chip directly in the coil.
Does the XT27A support Ford and Mazda 4D 80-bit chips?
Yes, it supports many 4D 40-bit and 80-bit layouts, including common Ford, Mazda, and Toyota-related profiles. Confirm the exact ID in your tool before cloning or generating the chip.
Do I need internet or tokens to use the XT27A?
Many basic chip generation and cloning jobs run from the programmer's built-in software. Some advanced cloning jobs, such as certain ID48 crypto calculations, may need online calculation, software authorization, or tokens depending on your tool.
Can I clone ID48 Megamos Crypto onto an XT27A?
Yes, in supported ID48 workflows. You will need a compatible programmer, the correct software authorization, and the required online or offline calculation process for the vehicle type.
What is the difference between XT27A, XT27B, and XT57B?
The XT27A is best for many standard transponder jobs. The XT27B and XT57B cover newer and more specialized applications, including selected MQB-related systems. See the XT27A vs XT27B vs XT57B comparison guide before choosing a chip for newer VAG platforms.
